Beekman’s founders are investment professionals with almost a century of combined real estate experience. They have assembled an accomplished and reputable senior management team that has helped turn Beekman into the success that it is today.
CEO & CHAIRMAN
Ariel Lahmi
Ariel Lahmi is the founder and Chairman of Beekman REIM, an international real estate investment and property management company with offices in New York City, Paris and Chennai. Mr. Lahmi has more than 26 years worth of real estate investing and development experience.
Since 2009, Mr. Lahmi has decided to invest in New York and India in multi-family, office building and condo-conversion with success.
Previous to Beekman REIM, Mr. Lahmi successfully founded a portfolio management company with divisions in insurance brokerage, financial investments, banking intermediation, and real estate development. In 1998, Mr. Lahmi has founded Concerto Development Group, the first logistics developer company in France. In 2001, Concerto Development was merged with Affine REIT, a commercial REIT listed on the NYSE Euronext, of which Mr. Lahmi is a member of the board of Directors and the company’s largest shareholder.
Mr. Lahmi is a graduate of the University of Paris with a charter in accounting and auditing, and a masters in Finance. He also founded the Chair for Real Estate Management at Netanya University in Israel.
Mr. Lahmi lives in New York City with his wife and family.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER
Sonia Ricord
As Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Sonia works closely with Mr. Lahmi to expand the company’s global business activities. Her responsibilities include overseeing acquisition, asset management, leasing, human resources, development and construction, as well as marketing and property management in major markets including USA, Europe and Asia.
Mrs. Ricord’s career started in 2002 at Affine REIT she was in charge with organizing the interfacing between the Chairman, investors, and tenants.
In 2005, Mrs. Ricord moved to Concerto Development (Paris), a European leader in warehouse development, to take the head of the Project management division. In 2009, Ms. Ricord moved to Chennai, India at Vision India Real Estate where she developed 2500 apartments during her 3 years there. She came back to France and was promoted to Executive Vice
President in 2012. Mrs. Ricord develop a strong leadership and operation skills during her time in India and Paris.
In 2016, she moved to New York, a place that enabled her to attract a team of experienced and dedicated professionals to Beekman Reim and help grow the company into a full-service real estate firm with offices in New York and Paris.
Mrs. Ricord has a BA in Real Estate and a Masters in Real Estates from the University of Paris La Sorbonne. She is an active member of different France/New York organizations.
LEGAL ANALYIST
Hamid Farraj
Mr. Farraj is a jurist who provides legal analysis for the benefit of all departments of the company. He assisted in following the administrative procedures with building departments of different cities. He initiates all exchanges with various law firms in which our company works with. He analyses the contractual clauses with the various suppliers, customers or tenants.
Mr. Farraj has a Bachelors in Law from University Paris XI, a Masters in Private Law and Criminal Sciences and a Masters in Public Law and Public Authorities from University Paris X. He is currently a PhD candidate in
comparative criminal law. Mr. Farraj was a Criminal Detective Investigator and Commander at the French Police Force for 26 years. In February 2010, after taking his oath of office at the Paris Court of Appeal, he became a lawyer with the Paris Bar.
HEAD OF LEASING
Dan Lahmi
Dan Lahmi is the Head of Leasing at Beekman. In this role, he oversees the leasing process of the company’s office and residential properties. Prior to joining Beekman, Dan was a Senior Associate at Beechwood Residential, a multi-family investment firm. During his tenure, he assisted the firm’s acquisition efforts by underwriting investment opportunities, putting together due diligence material and preparing investors’ presentations. Prior to joining Beachwold, Dan worked as an Asset Management Analyst at Gaia
Real Estate. At the company, he closely monitored the financial and operational performance of its properties.
Dan received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Brandeis University (MA) and an M.S. in Real Estate from NYU.
ASSET MANAGER
Benjamin Klein
He is responsible for all aspects of management needs, including owner/tenant communication, repair and maintenance, and lease management. Mr. Klein has worked at Beekman REIM for over 3 years and specializes in asset management, as well as project design, development, and management. With a keen sense of the development process, Mr. Klein provides pivotal insight into the nuances of construction budgets and timelines. Mr. Klein has a Masters in Real Estate Development from the Schack Institute of Real Estate at NYU.
ACQUISITION ANALYST
Alex Zheutlin
Alex is responsible for assisting in the firm’s acquisitions efforts through evaluating, conducting due diligence, and closing new investments. Mr. Zheutlin has over 5 years of experience in real estate specifically in New York City. With a Masters in Real Estate Finance & Investment from the Schack Institute of Real Estate, Mr. Zheutlin brings a granular understanding of project financing and investment strategizing. Having worked in the brokerage portion of the real estate industry at Stribling & Associates for two years in the past, he also has a keen sense of market opportunities and overall market dynamics.
OFFICE MANAGER
Elizabeth Chiafair
Apart from ensuring the day to day operations of the office are seamlessly, Elizabeth provides executive support to the Managing Partners as well as administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the office. After beginning her professional career as an Office Manager at a political consulting firm, she then worked for over ten years as the Director of Operations at a successful nonprofitorganization. In addition to this, she has thrived as a Group Fitness Instructor in several communities throughout New York City. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in History.
